Remembering Rian

by encouraging curiosity, observation, wonder and discovery

Welcome Back!

This is now the second iteration of The Annual RianRunClub event! We are so excited to kick off this year with more fun activities... Apologies for our delayed start this year, we were busy having a baby! Anyway, here is what's new!

  • This year we hope to hold an in-person event sometime towards the end of summer... exact dates TBD!

  • We have some updated and new gear available over in the swag shop, be sure to check it out!

  • Last year with your help we raised over $6,800 for two wonderful causes, Robert's Program at the Boston Children's Hospital and The Rian Taylor Bachman Bicentennial Scholarship at the University of Virginia School of Architecture. All donations and proceeds on swag will be headed their way again this year!

Thanks, much love, and hope to see you all soon!

About the RianRunClub

We plan to hold this event in the Summer of each year in memory of our daughter, Rian Taylor Bachman who was born on April 5, 2018 and passed away unexpectedly on September 2, 2018. Her curiosity and love of trees was the inspiration for this event and we hope that it filters through each step of the way.

While we named this the RianRunClub, you by no means should feel like you need to run anywhere. In fact, we encourage you to do whatever allows you to best explore your surroundings, look around while you do, and perhaps observe something beautiful in the ordinary that you hadn't noticed before. Whether you stay close to home or go far away, by yourself or in a group, walking, running, biking or summersaulting - take some time to look up and look around. Find the most amazing tree you can, snap a photo with it, and post it to Instagram with the hashtags #RianRunClub and #RianFunClub. Even though we may be far apart, hopefully Rian's memory can keep us feeling close. At the very least, we hope that you get outside for a nice walk, have some good laughs with some great friends, and think about Rian at times along the way.

Please check out the Donate page to find out how you can help to continue Rian's memory by supporting the Robert's Program at Boston Children's Hospital and their relentless pursuit of answers regarding SUDP and SIDS, or by contributing to The Rian Taylor Bachman Bicentennial Scholarship at the University of Virginia School of Architecture.
